Global Design Project 077 | Color Challenge

I'd like to thank Kylie Bertucci for selecting my project as a "Special Mention" in the Global Design Project 076 Challenge.  It had only been my second submission into a design challenge and I was so thrilled to have my work recognized.

This week's challenge was most challenging as Peakaboo Peach and Bermuda Bay are two ink colors I do not own.  I also don't own any cardstock in those colors.  Below is the color challenge we have been tasked with:

I had to think outside the box for this one.....

As I prepared to take on this challenge I looked to my Sale-A-Bration "free"-bee's for the color elements. Here's my submission:

Believe it or not, I used the Sale-a-Bration Lift Me Up DSP (the scalloped Peekaboo Peach and White -somehow the peach lined up perfectly with the die cut flames) for the candle flames and I used the Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper for the candles.  The Early Espresso card stock mattes the Whisper White cardstock.  Somehow I did it..... and now as I'm thinking of it....I didn't stamp a thing. Go figure!

Card Measurements and Supplies:

card base: Whisper White #100730 4 1/4" by 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
base layer: Early Espresso (#122925) cut at 4" by 5 1/4"
top layer: Whisper White cut at 3 7/8" x 4 7/8"

  1. I love how you thought about what you had in your stash that would work. This is a very clever card considering you didn't have the colours or the cardstock. You rocked the challenge. Thanks for playing at Global Design Project with us this week and good luck with the guest designer pick.
